Buster is an Irish Hare that was found when she was a leveret, only few hours old! The cutest creature you'll ever see, she was sitting still in the middle of a road when she was picked up. Emaciated and dehydrated, she was taken into care with the intention of releasing her once she was weaned. Along the way, we discovered she was blind, so not suitable for release. Buster has been living with myself and my husband ever since. This blog tells her story. Hence the title, Buster's Journey.

She is AMAZING! And SO adorable! You can tell she's a very happy girl.
It's impossible not to love Buster. She's a delight.
WOW! I'm tired just watching that :)
This is not an Irish Hare - it is a bucking bronco from the Wild Wild West ;)
She sure is growing a lot! Such energy, too!
It's great to see that she's doing well.
I love this beautiful bunny!
Wow! Not only is she beautiful and graceful, she's darn fast. You'd never know from watching this that she's blind. I just hope she never runs into that shed back there.
Wow !! We love Buster's Journey!!!Hugs from Sweden.
Pow! Pow! Pow!!!
Buster is amazing!
Wow! She's so energetic! It's good to see that she keeps in shape. ^^ Thanks for showing us!
God, I wish I had a yard for my bunnies to visit. Carpet binkying is close, but...
This makes my day. Have you thought about getting a friend for her since you will soon be busy with your baby.
I would think Buster wouldn't do well with another rabbit or hare in the house.. She's used to it being her territory, and lagomorphs (especially females) can be very territorial. Also, her blindness could make interacting with a strange new animal frightening. But then, I've never met her, so..
Never seen such great and smooth moves before! My rabbits are doing binkies in the garden as well, but the moves Buster makes are incredible! So much faster than my rabbits.
She sure is a happy hare!

She is just so cute!!!!!!! And it is wonderful to see her doing so well!
Thanks everyone!
We love her to bits and even though we've seen her jumping and sprinting countless times, she still stops us in our tracks when she starts her jumps!
We still don't know if the sprints are a sign of contentment or she's just stretching and working out her muscles! Either way it's a privilege to be able to watch her!
Well, just a quick update from me..
I'm finishing work end of next week so Buster will have to get used to share the kitchen and dining room with me during the day!
PG baby should arrive in the next two weeks - we're very excited!
I know some of you have asked re. getting a friend or companion for Buster.. We introduced her to a rabbit a few months back but she was very scared and nervous around the bunny so we gave him/her back.
kitty's comment is spot on there, she's very territorial even with us! The dining room is HER room and she can be quite grumpy with us from time to time, sometimes it seems that we almost annoy her!! Also because she's blind she is very nervous and afraid of nearly everything around her. We always have to be outside with her to reassure her with our voices. Any kind of noise or smell that she doesn't know will frighten her.. kids or neighbours voices, loud cars driving by, or even the sound of tin foil or some smells in the kitchen will make her nervous.. (or perhaps it's just my cooking!!) This is why we're very reluctant to introduce her again to another animal, even if it was a hare, as we're not sure she would recognize the hare as her own kind considering she's been with us since we was only a few hours old..
Thank you all for your lovely comments and good wishes, my husband and I love reading all your comments and feedback! Keep them coming!!
Talk soon xx Ileana

Have you ever seen Barishnikov dance? That second or two of hanging in the air between beautiful and graceful leaps? An absolutel delight to watch.
I had a blind bunny once who was afraid of other bunnies. But I have one now who came to me young, and she is like Buster, confident of her space which I try not to change. I think Lyla can see light and shapes.
You have quite the treasure.
This is such a delightful site and you're taking such excellent care of Buster! Thank you for the joy you and Buster bring to my day.
I see Buster now has a Bunspace profile.
Thank you SO much for the update. How cool to see videos of her too! Can you videotape her introduction to the baby? Please?!?!?
Whenever I am having a bad day, I am going to come back to your blog and watch the amazing Buster play.
I've never been so prompted to go back to a blogs beginnings and read from the start...Buster is amazing and beautiful and thank you so much for sharing her journey.
Looking forward to the next post in Busters adventure...Snuggles and nudges to your beauty.

What a wonderful video! I discovered your blog a few months ago, and it's always interesting to read the updates on Buster. She's so lucky to have found you.
That is Some Bunny!!

Thank you for having such a wonderful site. With all the bleak news in the world, you and Buster bring such joy. You are such wonderful caretakers. Bless you.
Hello Iliana (and Buster, and husband ;-) )
my two bunnys aren't blind but they are as afraid, as you write about Buster. They hate the hoover although they hear and see it every few days for so many years. So don't be shy to get another long eard friend for her. Don't forget that also we humans don't like every other person ;-) Hope you understand my english. My german is much better - so hello from Hamburg :-)
Just watched this - yet again!! Buster is such a delight. I don't know how you bear the love and joy she must bring your way. Thanks for sharing this sweet, mischievous little soul with the rest of us.
while this is simply adorable to watch, i cant help but notice how she's shaking her head frequently.. this might be indicative of an irritant, such as ear mites.
most of it could be simple play, but the head shaking strikes me as unusual, i know when i shake my head a lot, i find it to be quite uncomfortable. so you might want to look into that, just to be safe.
that said, i love her, and i don't know who to be more jealous of, the Hare, or her loving family..
What an amazing sight seeing her feeling her oats. You're doing a wonderful job, just amazing.
I dont believe I have ever enjoyed a video as much I this one. How wonderful that Buster has you as family.
Congratulations on Buster! I hand reared a hare this year and was told by the RSPCA that I should have it put down as it would die. Its good that some people have faith in these little'uns. I released my 'ferret' into the wild. They are a great priviledge to be with. Be careful that museli dosen't have too much salt in it. it is bad for the kidneys in small animals.

What a lovely sweet bunny! I hope she is (and you all are) doing well!
So lovely she seems so happy!!!
How to get a proper stance for stand up fighting. Shadow boxing is really effective and that is why you see so many experienced fighters doing it.
Sit-ups before sprinting back to the other side. The groups will continue sprinting the one hundred yards and repeating the exercises until they count down to zero.
