..a proper update on Buster!
We had a cold spell few weeks ago and we had about 10cm of snow!
Buster LOVED the snow!!
These are a couple of pictures from one of those cold evenings!
She was actually eating the snow! :-)
Here is Buster having her breakfast!
We give Buster fresh grass every day, however the quality of the grass in the winter is not as good as during spring and summer, so we integrated Buster's diet with oat, muesli, peeled carrots, sliced apples, rabbit feed, dried apples and banana, walnuts, sunflower seeds and various other hard biscuits and treats from the pet shop.
A good aul' stretch after breakfast!
So do you think she's grown up since the last time you saw her?
As mentioned, Buster is still taking milk in the mornings.
Her bottle now consists of 15ml of milk, 15ml of cooled boiled water, 3/4 scoop of Welpi (puppy's formula) and half a capsule of acidophilus to keep her flora balanced.
We have tried offering her just milk or just water but she seems to prefer her bottle when there's Welpi in it!
And finally another stretch after her morning bottle!!
Thank you all for your congrats and good wishes! :-)

She has gotten so big! What a cutie pie!
Oh she's GORGEOUS!! Thank you for the update and the wonderful photos!
Whoa!! Thanks so much for the update and pictures. She is so cute and so happy!!!! Your update made my day! :)
Now that's what I call a big breakfast!
I wonder if she would be okay eating hay or alfalfa seeing as the grass is a bit bad at the mo~I give mine [rabbits, not hares] fresh, sweet hay as bedding, and rob alfalfa off the pony to give to them! But then we've only got this month to go and then the grass should be coming in grand.
I love busters little tracks all over the back garden, and her stretch-she's such a sweetie.
There's wild hares in the bottom fields on the farm, if i'm lucky see them some mornings really early.
What a lovely breakfast she has. My husband said, "hey, she eats better than I do!"
She's a gorgeous animal and SO cute in the snow. Thanks so much for posting the updates.. we love 'em!
It's amazing how much she has grown! And she looks so happy. The amount of love and care you give her is evident from the amount of thought and variety you put into her meals. (Good thing my cats can't read about this.)
Yay for Buster! She's adorable, and what a wonderful life she lives with you! I'd better spruce up my Benjamin bunny's breakfast today - wouldn't want him to feel neglected!
Quick question: how did (or do) you toilet train Buster?
Thank you for updating! Buster looks great. I'm glad to see she's doing so well. Congratulations and good luck on the new addition again!
Have you guys thought about spaying her? What do the vets say? She looks fantastic! What a great start for my morning, as its rainy and dark here in dreary Connecticut! Thanks for the update!
Thank you for the update on Buster! She has indeed grown into quite the lady. :)
Bless your family for taking such care of her. I'm sure she's a delightful addition.
I look forward to future updates!

Try using wood stove pellets or shred newspaper instead cat litter, then put hay or grass on top. My rabbits were easy to litter train that way. Since Buster is blind, maybe put 2 around her favorite areas. Also wonder about sunflower seeds, rabbits (and hares) are not rodents, but cousins to deer and horses. I was scolded to never feed my rabbits seeds. Everything else is same or similar to your Buster (except the milk bottle, but she's still a baby).
Thanks so much for the updates, what cute photos in the snow!
Yay Buster! She looks like she is living the good life. Congrats on the new addition as well!
Thank God a new post on Buster!!! I was starting to worry... Glad to hear all's well and I agree that she's beautiful and big! And congratulations to you on the baby news! I believe you will be a wonderful mother. :)
I'm so happy to hear she's doing well :) Thanks for updating!
I cannot believe the length of her LEGS!!
She is really beautiful! And spoiled. ;)
Lovely to see her again. Thanks for posting.
Hi Buster! I was starting to worry about you, too. I'm glad to see that your Mom and Dad spoil you as much as my Mama spoils me.
Isn't snow fun? I loves it, and I like to eat it, too, when Mama brings some inside for me to play with.
Hi Ileana,
I'd like to let you know that I really enjoy Busters blog. I'm taking care of a handicaped rabbit (splay legs) myself, so I know what effort it takes to keep them healthy and happy. It's always nice to read that there are other people around who do the same thing!
I was just wondering: isn't it possible that Buster refuses to drink from a bowl, just because she likes to be bottle-fed? I think that the daily bottle makes her feel safe and happy. In that way it's a great compliment for all your care!
I hope you'll blog some more about Buster in the future

I've had 5 rabbits myself, but right now can't have one because of my living situation. But thanks to you and Buster, I can always daydream! :)

hi, I've just bought a painting of a Hare entitled 'Buster' - is it anything to do with your 'Buster'?
I came across your blog whilst looking for info on my painting!
what a lovely story, i had tears in my eyes reading all about Buster!
I used to keep house bunnies and very easily litter trained them by soaking up any wee with kitchen roll and then placing a litter tray in that area with the soiled kitchen roll in it and they just naturally kept going back to the tray! i kept on using kitchen roll as it stopped them getting wee on their paws!
hope that is of help!
What a beauty! I'm glad to hear that Buster is doing well.
She's beautiful. She was lucky to find you. My bunnies love the snow too!
she is such a sweetie.. i have a hard time figuring it out, who's luckier? you or her?
i love you guys so much for having the compassion to take care of her.. you really renew my (frighteningly limited) faith in humanity..
